I received my bachelor’s degree in biology at UNM, and since then I have been working as a sleep technologist and researcher with SHHI. With my colleagues, I work with data management as well as in project coordination. And most enjoyably, I work with patients first hand and aid in their education and treatment of sleep problems. As a technologist, I administer nighttime sleep studies to patients and research participants. As a researcher, the SHHI staff and myself analyze the resulting data; our hope is to better understand sleep and sleep disorders, and to derive better and more complete treatments to patients. My goal is to eventually attend medical school, and working here gives invaluable experience that strengthens my desire to pursue medicine. |
